Terms of service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of truenorthworks.net (the “Site”) and any product you buy from us. Please read them alongside our Refund Policy and Privacy Policy, which form part of these Terms.

1. Who we are

True North Works is a digital-products storefront operated by Todd Croy, a sole proprietor doing business as “True North Works” (“we,” “us,” “our”). You can reach us at support@truenorthworks.net.

2. Acceptance of these Terms

By using the Site or purchasing a product, you agree to these Terms, our Refund Policy, and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or buy from us.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and able to enter a binding contract to purchase from us. Our products are made for adults running or building a business or project.

4. Our products

We sell digital downloads — guides, workbooks, checklists, templates, planners, prompt packs, and bundles of these. Products are delivered electronically; nothing physical ships. Each product page describes what’s included so you can decide before you buy.

5. License to use what you buy

When you buy a product, it is licensed to you for your own personal and business use — not sold outright. The full, binding terms are in the customer-use license included with every download; our License page is a plain-language summary. In short: you may use, print, save, and adapt the materials for your own business; you may not resell, relicense, share, redistribute, or publicly post the files, or present the templates, frameworks, or prompts as your own product. No resale, private-label (PLR), master-resale, or redistribution rights are transferred. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

6. Orders, pricing, and payment

Prices are shown on each product page in U.S. dollars and may change at any time before purchase. Launch or promotional pricing applies only while genuinely in effect.
Checkout and payment are handled through Shopify, using Shopify Payments and PayPal as our payment processors. We do not receive or store your full card details; the processors handle that.
We are the seller of record. Shopify provides the store and checkout but is not a merchant of record and is not the seller of our products — your purchase is from True North Works.
Taxes. Prices may be shown exclusive or inclusive of tax depending on your location. Where we are required to collect sales tax, VAT, GST, or similar, it will be calculated at checkout. You are responsible for any taxes, duties, or charges that apply to you and are not collected by us.

7. Delivery

After your payment is confirmed, your download link is shown at checkout and emailed to you, and your files are available immediately. If you have trouble accessing a download, contact support@truenorthworks.net and we’ll help you get your files.

8. Refunds

Our products are instant digital downloads. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Site or our products to break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, or interfere with the Site’s operation or security. You agree not to copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute the Site’s content or our products except as your license allows.

10. Intellectual property

The Site and all of our products, including text, designs, templates, frameworks, prompts, graphics, and branding, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the license granted to you when you buy a product, nothing on the Site transfers any ownership or rights to you.

11. Third-party services and links

Our checkout, payment, delivery, and email tools are operated by third parties (including Shopify, PayPal, and others listed in our Privacy Policy), each with its own terms and privacy practices. Our products may mention or link to third-party tools; we are not responsible for, and do not endorse, third-party services unless we say so expressly.

12. Disclaimers

Our products are provided for informational and educational purposes only and are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind except those that cannot be excluded by law. We do not guarantee any specific result, income, or outcome — what you achieve depends on factors outside our control, including your own effort, skills, market, and circumstances. Nothing we provide is professional financial, legal, tax, accounting, or business advice; for advice specific to your situation, consult a qualified professional. Where a product includes AI prompts or guidance, AI outputs vary and can be inaccurate — always review, edit, and fact-check anything you generate before relying on it.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the Site or our products. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to a product is limited to the amount you paid for that product. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you; nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence).

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Site or products, your breach of these Terms or your license, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, and you consent to their jurisdiction. This does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer-protection laws of the country or region where you live.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect when you buy applies to that purchase. Changes take effect when posted on this page, with an updated effective date. Continuing to use the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

17. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, together with the Refund Policy, Privacy Policy, and the license included with each product, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site and your purchases.
